Accessibility Handbook for Teaching and Learning

Preface

This book is an adaptation of Accessibility Handbook for Teaching and Learning created by Luke McKnight (Assistive Technologist) and Briana Fraser (Educational Technologist, Langara College) with assistance from Clover Duong (Assistive Technologist Project Assistant, Langara College).

This version was created by Cheryl Colan (Instructional Designer) and Max O’Neil (Afterhours Support Technician) from the Teaching and eLearning Support (TeLS) Department at Yavapai College, who added chapters for the Canvas Learning Management System and Panopto hosted video platform. The overall text was also updated to reflect conventions, statistics, and standards of the United States as appropriate. This book is hosted by the Maricopa Open Digital Press of the Maricopa County Community Colleges District. Thatcher Bohrman provided the cover photograph for this edition.

This resource is intended as a reference for anyone to understand digital accessibility, create accessible content, and ensure everyone can access digital material.

Please use, share, and copy from this book as you see fit.
