14 Current Workplace Trends in AI: For your Consideration

Many groups have begun to examine how AI is going to be integrated into the workforce.

The North Carolina Department of Commerce released an article in 2024 that explored the positive impacts, the limitations, and the need for more research.

Forbes released an article exploring HR Trends around AI.

McKinsey Digital released a report that noted that leaders are more likely to be in the way of AI use in the workplace, and that many employees are already ready and able to use AI.

Brookings Media explored the potential for AI to disrupt jobs, noting that workers are not prepared for up to “50% of their occupation’s tasks disrupted by generative AI” (para 2). While other researchers have noted an “increase in operational efficiency, faster, informed decisions, and innovations in products and services” (Zirar et al., 2023, p. 1).
