This project will utilize Pressbooks and Canvas as vehicles to RELEASE our AI materials beyond GCC. This project will EMPOWER students and faculty through new AI assignments and accessible formats in Pressbooks and Canvas.
The authors gratefully acknowledge everything that we’ve learned about AI from our students and colleagues. We specifically want to thank
- Glendale Community College’s 2025 CTLE team of Meghan Kennedy, Beth Eyres, Polly Laubach, and Jenn Alton
- Maricopa’s OER team including Deborah Baker, Lisa Young, and Stephanie Green
This collaborative project has pushed us to ask questions about the role of AI in our classrooms and libraries. It perfectly complements our work to teach composition, critical thinking, and information literacy. We will continue to utilize OER to increase access and equity for the students we serve.
Use of Generative AI in the production of AI is the Real Deal
AI tools used in the production of this guide include models of ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Perplexity, and Canva. The tools were used to brainstorm and synthesize content, suggest improvements, and create and manipulate images.
Cover Design
We acknowledge the use of Canva’s AI-powered tools to create images to use with minor modification as the cover for this book. Canva’s tools include image generation from DALL-E and Imagen by Google Cloud.
Feel free to contact us with your ideas as you use these materials.
