2. A store is having a 35% off sale. If the original price of the shirt is $18.00, what is the price of the shirt after the discount is applied (not including tax)?

3. Hank currently makes $13.00 per hour and is going to receive a 7% raise. What will be Hank’s new hourly wage?

4. At a restaurant, the bill comes to $50.00. If you decide to leave a 15% tip, what is the total amount you will pay?

5. At a restaurant, the bill comes to $32.20. If you decide to leave an 18% tip, what is the total amount you will pay?

6. A company wants to decrease their energy bill by 12%. If their electric bill is currently $2,200.00 a month, what will their bill be if they are successful?

7. Sam lost 11% of his body weight after including healthier foods in his diet and exercising regularly. If his original weight was 218 lbs., what is his current weight?

8. What is the total cost of a $350.00 iPad that is on sale at 14% off if the local sales tax rate is 8%?

9. The cost of a new home is $75,000.00 and the bank requires a 6.5% down payment. What is the amount that will need to be borrowed from the bank after the down payment is paid (also known as the “mortgage amount”)?

10. A sales clerk received an increase in her annual salary. After the increase, her new salary is $27,300.00. If she received a 5% raise, what was her old salary?

11. Joyce paid $84.50 for an item at the store that was 35% off the original price. What was the original price?

12. You purchased a new car for a total cost of $19,241.94, which includes the 13% sales tax. What was the original price of the car?

13. Jason went on a diet and lost 4% of his body weight. He now weighs 270 pounds. What was his original body weight?

14. Enrollment at a local charter school was reported at 1232 students after a 20% decrease. What was the enrollment before the decrease?

15. You purchased a new graphing calculator for a total cost of $123.12, which includes 8% sales tax. What was the original price of the calculator?

16. The mortgage amount (amount borrowed from the bank) of a new home is $110,000.00. The bank required an 8.2% down payment. What was the original price of the home before the down payment was made?
