12. The area of a trapezoid is 220 sq. ft. The length of the bases are 10 ft and 45 ft. Find the height of the trapezoid.

13. In your new home, you are planning to completely re-landscape the backyard. The yard is rectangular in shape, 18 feet long and 24 feet wide. A contractor has said that for labor and materials, the cost to re-landscape will be $6 per square foot. How much will the landscaping project cost?

14. Charles has a rectangular flower garden that is 5 yd long and 12 yd wide. One bag of fertilizer can cover 6 yd2. How many bags will he need to buy to cover the entire garden?

15. The perimeter of a rectangular field is 60 ft and its width is 20 ft. Find the area of this field.

16. Betty wants to install new carpet in her living room. The room is a square with length 15 ft and width 15 ft. If the cost of the carpet is $8 per square foot, what will be the total cost to carpet Betty’s living room? After installing the carpet, Betty decides to also install floor wood molding for her living room. The molding will go around the entire room. The molding costs $4 per foot. What will be the total cost of the molding?

17. The area of a square is 4 square inches. What is the length of a side?

18. A classroom has a length of 20 feet and a width of 30 feet. The headmaster decided that tiles will look good in that class. If each tile has a length of 24 inches and a width of 36 inches, how many tiles are needed to fill the classroom?

19. Danny has a rectangular rose garden that measures 8 m by 10 m. One bag of fertilizer can cover 16 m2. How many bags will he need to cover the entire garden?

20. Carlos is surveying a plot of land in the shape of a right triangle. The area of the land is 45,000 square meters. If one leg of the triangular plot is 180 meters long, what is the other leg of the triangle?
