Chapter 5: Delivery

There is no one perfect way to deliver a speech, although there are ways that will not be effective. While we all have our own speaking styles with different strengths, there are strategies we can employ that will help us to engage with the audience, keep their interest, and get our message across more clearly. In this chapter, we will examine methods of delivery and nonverbal and verbal strategies that will make our speech delivery more engaging. We will then discuss specific considerations for using speaking notes effectively. Finally, we will explore using presentation aids to enhance audience understanding and interest.
