My Response Policy

During the weekdays, students can expect a response time of 24-36 hours for emails, phone calls, and messages sent via the Canvas Learning Management System; 48 hours on the weekends. Students can expect minor assignments to be graded within 72 hours; 7-10 days for major assignments.

About Me…

My name is Matthew Healy, and my goal as a teacher is to make your learning engaging and relevant. Regardless of your job, language plays a huge role in your success.

I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Philosophy from Northern Arizona University and a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing from the Ohio State University (where I also learned to enjoy college football). I’ve had a bunch of jobs, from advertising to law enforcement, but teaching has been by far the most fulfilling.

When I’m not teaching, I’m working in the arts (drawing, painting, writing) and hanging out with my family: my wife Cat, and two kids Alaina and Jack. We’re all huge fans of film and gaming, so if you have a suggestion for a good flick or game, I’d love to hear it.

I’m always available to talk with you, so if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas, please reach out to me. The best way to contact me is via email. I know we all lead busy and sometimes chaotic lives, so I will try to work with you on any issues. All I ask is that you try to contact me before deadlines rather than after.
