Over 100 strains of human papillomavirus

Non-genital human papillomavirus strains enters via broken skin, fomites (towels, razors), touching warts

Genital human papillomavirus strains are transmitted via sexual contact, skin to skin contact. Can be transmitted by someone via skin that does not currently have genital warts.

In the U.S. 360,000 cases of genital warts and 13,000 cases of cervical cancer per year

HPV 16 and 18 included in the vaccine cause 70% cervical cancer

HPV 6 and 11 included in the vaccine cause 90% genital warts
