Genital human papillomavirus strains are transmitted via sexual contact, skin to skin contact. Can be transmitted by someone via skin that does not currently have genital warts.

Signs and Symptoms:
Cauliflower-like growth (wart)
Testing Pap smear, PCR
90% clear the virus within 2 years. 10% have chronic, latent infection
Gardasil vaccine (100% effective) 4 strains included in the vaccine (over 40 strains are sexually transmitted), 3 shot series
HPV 16 and 18 included in the vaccine cause 70% cervical cancer
HPV 6 and 11 included in the vaccine cause 90% genital warts
