This is where we’ll brainstorm our ideas for the evaluation essay. You will want to read the requirements again.
There are several areas for you to respond to. Please read carefully.
We will be evaluating school resources. Here are some examples:
- Center for Learning
- Writing Center
- Math Solutions
- High Tech 1
- High Tech 2
- GCC Counseling and Career Services
- Library
- Fitness Center
You’ve done a K-W-L in elementary school. We’ll write what we KNOW and WANT to know in this discussion. Then we’ll do a virtual scavenger hunt to learn more.
We will also brainstorm the criteria by which we will evaluate these resources.
Remember that criteria can be categorized into three groups:
- necessary (crucial but not enough to meet your overall assessment),
- sufficient (meeting all of your minimum standards, including the necessary ones), and
- accidental (unnecessary but an added bonus to the necessary and sufficient criteria).
Please post your initial ideas by the deadline. Then take time to read and respond to at least two others within 48 hours.
