Module Level Objectives

  1. Be able to define a radical, state its hybridization and draw its orbitals.
  2. Be able to predict the products of radical chlorination and bromination of alkanes and cycloalkanes.
  3. Be able to explain the differences in chlorination and bromination of alkanes and cycloalkanes.
  4. Be able to write the steps of radical halogenation of alkanes.
  5. Be able to predict the stereochemical outcome of halogenation of alkanes.
