Introduction

Writing a research paper can be challenging, intimidating, and time-consuming. Writing in general can often serve as a challenge to most students. Despite the challenge it may pose, writing is an important skill for all students to develop. Communication is at the cornerstone of all human interaction and writing is a form of communication. In an effort to make the task less daunting I will discuss techniques to assist students in the process of writing a research paper.  In this paper I will discuss how students can best set themselves up for success, including tactics to optimize their time, identifying weak points, and identifying goals.
