This book is available for download as a Common Cartridge (.imscc) file for easy import into Canvas or another learning management system that supports IMS Common Cartridge format.

Once downloaded, follow the steps below to import the content into your Canvas course.
1. Log in to Canvas
Go to your institution’s Canvas site and log in.
2. Go to the course where you want to import the content
You can either choose an existing course or create a new one.
3. Open Settings
From the course navigation menu (usually on the left), click on Settings (it’s usually at the bottom of the list).
4. Click on Import Course Content
On the right-hand side (or sometimes under a tab), click the “Import Course Content” button.
5. Choose Content Type
In the dropdown menu, select:
“Common Cartridge 1.x Package”
6. Upload the .imscc file
Click “Choose File” and upload the .imscc file you downloaded from Pressbooks.
7. Choose Options
- You can choose “All content” or “Select specific content” depending on what you want to import.
- (Optional) Adjust event and due dates if applicable.
8. Click Import
Canvas will process the file. This may take a few minutes.
9. Review Your Content
Once the import is complete, check Modules, Pages, Files, and Assignments (depending on what your Pressbook included) to see your new content.
