In general, in-text citations require the author’s last name and the page number when available. There are multiple correct ways to do this when you have one author:

(Author page number)

Example of one author, with the author included in the signal phrase

(page number)

According to Marx, Wilber made “in excess of half a million dollars” (43).

Example of citing two sources in a single sentence, each with one author, use a semi-colon to separate the two sources

(Author page number; Author page number)

(Garcia 98; Williams 23)
