Introduction

Our Purpose

Our current global pandemic has heightened the need for faculty to be responsive and flexible in our instructional delivery.  Given the range of instructional needs of Glendale and Scottsdale Community College students, instructors must have more tools in their toolkit to remotely respond to and support diverse thinkers and learners.  We have created these Open Educational Resources because textbooks are expensive, ranging from $45 for the Cengage e-text to $97.50 for Connect to  $188 for the Diyanni literature book.  Our project supports Maricopa’s goal of creating low-cost and no-cost textbook options for our students.  More importantly, ENG102 OER items in the Maricopa OER repository are in need of an update.  Although we might look back at the Maricopa Millions ENG102 courses, our work will primarily draw from more recent online and openly licensed content which will be presented in an interactive format.
