Making Statistics Come Alive with Desmos Scientific Calculator & Stats Calculator
Melina Priewe
Executive Summary
In an effort to save my students money as well as to learn newer current technologies, I will teach my students to use the Desmos Scientific Calculator along with the Stats Calculator. I have been able to show these new technologies to my in-person students, but it has been harder for my online students since there are not instructional videos with the newer technology for handwritten math examples that I have. While there are instructional videos out there using the Desmos Scientific Calculator, there are not instructional videos for these specific problems that match my students’ guided notes or that match the Stats Calculator that was created by one of our own math colleges in Maricopa.
Therefore, to address this gap, I created videos that show how to use the Desmos Scientific Calculator. I created videos that show my students how to use the newer technology, Desmos Scientific Calculator and the Stats Calculator. I also created Google Slides and Google Docs notes handouts to accompany those videos.
