Roberto Gudino

Executive Summary

This project addresses the dynamic demands of the film and TV industry by creating Open Educational Resources (OER) for courses: FMT117 Introduction to Cinematography, FMT118 Lighting for Film and Television, and FMT270 Documentaries for Social Change. The goal is to empower students with 21st-century technology skills.

A focal point is the development of a comprehensive Camera Course on Canvas, centered around the Canon EOS C200 digital cinema camera. Video demonstrations will help students master its features and menus.

The project follows a student-centered model, delivering concise instructional videos that are less than 3 minutes and are accessible through Canvas or YouTube. Assessments include practice and graded quizzes on Canvas.

Expected outcomes are improved learning, higher completion rates, stronger retention, and an enhanced online learning experience. The initiative aligns with MCCCD goals, aiming to elevate student engagement and competency in the ever-evolving film and TV industry.
