Social Psychology OER Course

Jennifer Brown

Executive Summary

The final project for a Social Psychology OER course includes a Canvas course with 15 modules (plus a glossary of terms), a MOD Press book has been created for the course utilizing resources available through OER as well as creative license of the faculty member. The MOD press book has been uploaded into each chapter and it includes H5P activities in all chapters. Additionally, there are several other assessments created by the faculty member that are higher-stakes and varied in their modality so that students can access the work through various learning channels. These include: Discussion Board, paper, presentations. Along with the assessments, powerpoint presentations have been created and adopted for each of the modules of the course. Finally, there is also a movie recommendation worked into the class (although not OER, it can easily be purchased for a college library and shared with students). The movie is meant to help discuss several key themes studied within the class through a historical lens. The class has also been built with a lens toward culturally relevant pedagogy.
