Research Methods in Psychology

Jennifer Brown

Executive Summary

Research Methods in Psychology is a course developed in Canvas. It has weekly chapter readings accented by formative assessments after each section within a chapter. There is also a lab portion of this course. The lab work focuses on two facets: 1) Discussion Boards designed to help students apply and discuss what they have read regarding various aspects of research methodology and 2) a course-long project of learning how to write, and writing, an original research project of the student’s choosing. This course can be utilized for any classroom modality: face-to-face, hybrid, or online. Additionally, because the textbook is not separate from Canvas it creates ease for students to utilize just one platform.
