Welcome to Your Lab Textbook!

Welcome to Exploring Physical Geology Lab Online This is an interactive textbook, which you will use to explore each week’s geological topic in a little more depth to complete lab exercises. This resource was developed by Dr. Charlene Estrada (South Mountain Community College) within the Maricopa County Community Colleges District! It is designed to be easier to understand if you’re a non-science major (although science majors are welcome, too!).

This textbook is 100% free and open for you to download, use, and reuse, even when the class is over. If it has been deployed in your Geology class, you may notice interactive questions lurking around the chapters – some of your instructors may even have made these questions worth some points that count toward your course grade.

The purpose of this introductory chapter is to get you familiar with some of these activities and how they report your score to the Canvas system you use to access your course. So, without further ado, let’s jump in!
