Appendix C: Universal Design for Learning

The authors have followed Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Guidelines as a tool to improve and optimize teaching and learning for all people based on scientific insights into how humans learn.  These guidelines include suggestions on how to provide access, build on learning, and internalize processes in three main areas:

  1. Engagement
  2. Representation
  3. Action and Expression

UDL research and suggestions can be found HERE.  Instructor resources have been provided, where applicable, at the end of each chapter.
